Ward Camp out

We attended our ward camp out last week. We went up a day sooner then the date they had planned but by that evening about 7 other families showed up early too. The next day we watched all the families show up from that morning to that night. This year about 40 families came. This is our 3rd year going to these camp outs and we really enjoy them. Our kids have a BLAST playing with all the kids and we have fun hanging out with everyone, playing games, talking and getting to know each other even more. I wish the camp out could be longer!

Keagan and Hayden loved playing together

The favorite thing this year was this rip cord that camp host had made. He came up to us the 1st day we camped and said we were welcomed to use it. The kids loved it and it was so fun to watch them play with it.

Hayden was at 1st nervous to ride the Rip Cord

The kids loved playing chicken with it

Hayden loving the ride!

Emmie's turn. I was shocked she wanted to try it, she was all smiles on the ride.

Saturday morning we had a big breakfast and games

Thanks Jessica for sending these to me!

Jessica Norton is in my ward, my neighbor, in the RS presidency with me and a great friend. At the camp out our kids were playing together. At one point they were playing in the hammock someone brought. It was funny when Hayden fell through a hole in the hammock but he didn't think it was so funny.

Sedona overnight trip

We spent 2 days and one night in Sedona last week. It was a nice little getaway. It was the kids 1st time going so once we checked into our hotel we went sight seeing and went to a few trails. Our first stop was Oak Creek so the kids could see the water. It was so pretty there and the weather was nicer then the Valley. We had a nice little get away and the kids really liked seeing the mountains. They are used to the mountains they see by the cabin so this was really different for them.

A place I love to go is called Tlaquepaque. It a place where they have lots of shops, restaurants and art but I don't buy anything or eat there. I just love the atmosphere. Its so pretty, you feel like your in a different country. I love to walk around and enjoy the scenery.

Hoping to adopt

When you want to adopt they say to tell everyone you know you want to adopt. You never know how your child will come to you. I have been using a Myspace page to help spread the word before we even got Emmie. I met some nice couples also looking to adopt and it was nice to chat with them about adoption stuff and it was a nice little support system. I figured I should also do a blog, I figured it wouldn't hurt. Even after adopting Emmie we feel like we would like to adopt at least one more time. We aren't in any super rush, we feel when it happens, it happens....but you never know when it will happen or how. So I thought I would get the word out now. If you read my blog make sure to add my new site to your blog. THANKS!

Libby and Tike's puppy

Libby and Tike's puppy is almost old enough to leave his mommy which has got me thinking a lot lately about him. He is so sweet, precious, cute, soft and I am attached to him for sentimental reasons too. But I kept thinking of all the reasons I shouldn't keep him. When I thought about it the reasons to not keep him got to be so much. I don't want 3 dogs...I don't want to train a puppy again, I just got done training Libby....he is a boy so he will pee more in my house....when we go out of town its another dog to worry about....That is just to name a few. I didn't want to just sell him to anyone. I really wanted someone in my family to want him. That way we can see him at times and I know he is taken care of. So my cousin is taking him. She has always loved Tike (the puppy's dad) so I think she will love him. When I think about him leaving I almost cry. Like I said there are some sentimental reasons why I love him too. I am such a dog lover, I treat my pets like kids. They are my babies and I am glad this cutie found a home within my family.

Rock Star toes

A tax client of ours works at Personalities Salon. It is between Rudy's and the library on Ellsworth and Ocotillo. (21820 S. Ellsworth) I have never even seen the salon their but I went today and really liked it there. It was cute and everyone was nice. I got something done today I have never seen anywhere else its called Rock star toes. You sit in this chair and they put this gel on your toes, then glitter and bake them and then repeat several times. They do this so this look stays for awhile and in about 6 weeks you can go back for touch ups or do them all over again if you want another color. Then once the toes are done they do your pedicure (foot spa and massage.) This month you get the Spa pedicure and rock star toes (glitter gel overlay, lasts for about 6 weeks) for $40. After August the price goes up. Just wanted to spread the word in case anyone is interested in trying something new. I like them! I think I will go back around Halloween and Christmas time to do something fun for the holidays for sure. Call for an appointment and ask for Heidi to do your pedicure (480) 882-3781 She is our tax client.

Hayden's back to preschool

Hayden started preschool again. He will be 5 in December so this school year he was a little too young to start Kindergarten. He loves his new teacher and class. She is a women in my mom's ward who also lives in our neighborhood. She is a real school teacher which is what I LOVE about her as Hayden's teacher. And at the open house I really liked her thoughts on teaching, her ideas and plans for the kids this year. This should be awesome for Hayden as he prepares to be in kindergarten next year. I hope he continues to get smarter and makes some great friends!
